This year has possibly been the most difficult year for buying Birthday presents for my wonderful boyfriend. We have been together for 6 years now, lived together for over a year and I have known him since I was just 13 years old. So what do you buy for the guy you have known and loved for over a decade?!
My first thought was obviously books! Personal (as he loves to read) and practical (so he has something to read on holiday this year). My first gift, therefore, was 'The Hunger Games' trilogy. I bought them from
ASDA DIRECT on a 2 books £7 deal (I bought myself a book for our holidays too - cheeky). That should keep his busy on the aeroplane.
Also, as he has just recently passed his driving test, I decided to I buy him a
Darth Vader keyring from Amazon for £8.19 for his new car keys. A great gift as not many boys dislike Star Wars.
As he is such a huge fan of drinking tea, I also bought him a very masculine
'Tea-Rex' mug from Urban Outfitters, featuring a picture of a bright orange T-Rex holding a cup and saucer. This is available online but I bought it from Store in Leeds for £9.00 as to not pay postage and packaging.
And my final gift was focused around my favourite saying; 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach'. I cracked out my
'Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook', as I have previously mentioned on this blog, and made a huge batch of chocolate and Oreo cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting. Unfortunately, this cake recipe does not feature in the Hummingbird Cookbook - it has been adapted by a very close friend and amazing baker-ess
